The scholarships’ award event which is in line with President Bio’s free education flagship program was held at the company’s new recreational center at Mosenesis junction in Moyamba District.
Addressing the beneficiaries, the acting General Manager SMHL Basudeb Datta said they are honored and privileged to award scholarships to beneficiaries to pursue the professional courses.
Mr. Datta cited that, there is demand for high qualify technical people to run the mining operation for the development of the communities.
Mr. Datta maintained that the beneficiaries should make good use of the opportunity, citing that there are other students looking out for the opportunity but cannot access it.
Minister of Technical and Higher Education Professor Aiah Gbakima said the main objective of the education flagship programme is for development, also stating that the government is doing it in three phases.
