The Sierra Leone Swimming, Diving and Waterpole Association has called on government and the Sierra Leone Police to allow them access to the Swimming Pool at the Siaka Steven Stadium in Freetown.
Secretary General of the Association, Mohamed Abdul Turay speaking to this reporter explained that since they returned from the international swimming competition in Bahmas, they have not been able to get access to the pool for training.
Sierra Leone’s finest Female Swimmer, Buturabie Jalloh has called on philanthropists to help her pursue her dream to become the first Sierra Leonean Swimming/Sports Doctor from the University of Portsmouth in England.
She made this call on AYV Sport Direct television program over the weekend in Freetown.
Sierra Leoneans in and out of the country have described the current state of the country’s football (soccer) as one that is in a ‘dark room’.
“Have you ever thought football in Sierra Leone will become a battlefield? The in-fight will not stop as long as the authorities responsible to fix things are not interested. What is happening with the country’s football? The game is dead,” a football fanatic grumbled whiles speaking to this medium.
