The female football league which finally recommenced over the weekend saw two formable sides, Mahmoud FC locking horns with Victory FC and both teams took on each other like clash of the titans in the traditional ground at Fourah Bay playing field.
Mahmoud FC succeeded in showing its opponent why it were rated one of the best football teams among female clubs across the country.
Mahmoud FC’s Angelina Kai, Binta Bah and Rashidatu posed as pain in the neck for Victory FC, as Rashidatu scored the first goal of the match.
Few minutes later, Kadiatu Kargbo headed into the goal by after a long free-kick from Rashidatu, giving Mahmoud FC to a comfortable 2-0 over Victory FC.
The match ended 3-1 in favour of Mahmoud FC.
Head Coach of Mahmoud FC, Emmanuel Turay expressed joy over his team’s victory, whiles stating that the team has all what it takes for them to become champions.
On the other hand, Head Coach for Victory FC, Abubakarr Tarawalie expressed dismay over the defeat. He said poor preparation and lack of good mid fielder were two of the factors that led to his team’s defeat.
