Residents of Moa Wharf community in the Western Urban of Freetown, one of the slum areas with a population of over eight hundred habitants, have raised serious concerns over the lack of toilet and garbage disposal facilities in their community.

The Ministry of Mines and Mineral Resources and the National Mineral Agency (NMA) on Wednesday 17th February 2016 hosted a one day workshop on the formation of the Kimberley process and on multi stakeholder national task force at the Ministry’s Conference Room, Youyi Building, Brookfields. The Chairman of the workshop, Mr Mustapha Turay said the objective of the workshop was to create a national level taskforce that has the potential to significantly improve the collective effort to curb the illicit flow of diamonds across the borders, break their link with conflict, the new stem of falsification of the Kimberley certificate and how collective they could minimise those problems.
