Established in 2010, MD Obeta informed his audience which included a cross-section of the print and electronic media that, the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) is the leading philanthropy in Africa championing entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs across the Africa continent. He added that the Foundation’s long-term investment in empowering African entrepreneurs is emblematic of Tony Elumelu’s philosophy of Africapitalism, which positions Africa’s private sector and most importantly entrepreneurs, as the catalyst for the social and economic development of the Africa continent.
He called on the young entrepreneurs to use the experience gained to bring onboard more Sierra Leoneans interested in entrepreneurship. He added that he is looking forward to working more closely with TEF candidates and hoped that next year’s TEF would see more Sierra Leoneans attending.
Frank and open discussions about their trip, their experiences, what they plan to do now and what they are expecting of the UBA, formed the high point of the ceremony.
