In just one weekend of two days, Sierra Leone’s President, His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio left his countrymen and women and friends of Sierra Leone speechless over what footballers will call a clean hat-trick that deserves an award of a golden boot.
The fine gentleman paid the whooping s
ome of over Thirty-Three Billion Leones to the president, vice president, ministers and top government officials in the erstwhile All People’s Congress (APC) led government as end of service benefit, gratuities and pension arrears.
As if that was not enough, the Fountain of Honour also round about the same time restored the long-serving security guards of former President Ernest Bai Koroma, as a way of listening to the voices of nationals.
Also, in another similar development, the president also returned with laurels from his state visit to his colleague president in Rwanda, H.E. Paul Kagame.
“No wonder why people call him the talk-and-do president. Now I see why people refer to him as a listening president. Now I can comfortably say my president has brought us the right direction.” Peter Koroma, a political and social commentator told this reporter last evening before press time.
