Mr. George made the demonstration along the Waterloo/Benguma highway in brushing for ten minutes and got the grass level to as low as six inches to the ground.
The minister earlier informed the councilors and youths of that community that this is the time for us to show patriotism to this nation, adding that we must not only concentrate on the aspect of money to this particular brushing project, but work as concerned citizens.
He said the brushing will not only create job opportunities for the youths but will help to the beautification of the roads and also reduce some of the fatal accidents especially on danger curves on the highway.
The minister insisted that we need to come together and put politics aside in order for President Bio and his government to succeed in the transformation of Sierra Leone.
In his remarks, the Director of Road Maintenance at the Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA), Abdulai Ansumana gave all the specifications of the brushing exercise, pointing out that, it must be done four metres from off the highway and that the grass level should be six inches off ground.
Mr. Ansumana said people must now take ownership of this project and further admonished the councilors to work in close collaboration with the youth population.
The SLRA Board Chairman, Joseph Kaifala made a brilliant contribution. He also advised youth to do the brushing passionately.
