President Bio taking the kick-off in the opening SLPB league matches
The Public Relations Office of the Sierra Leone Premier League Board (SLPLB) has stated that the Board has made the highest gains in gate proceeds for a Sierra Leone Premier League first round in the country’s football history.
Canadian-Sierra Leonean-born, Deedra Chestnut has on Monday night arrived in Freetown four days ahead of the much-talked-about fight with local-based champion Zainab Keita in the Independent Boxfest Championship.

The Sierra Leone Cricket Association has officially launched the T20 Cricket Men’s Premier League. The launching took place on Saturday 21st April 2019, at the Prince of Wales Oval at Kingtom.
The league is expected to last for ninety days with eleven clubs battling for the Championship Trophy. This year’s T20 format will take the form of home and away and the teams playing are: Asian Pro Cricket Club, Police Cricket Club, Midwest Cricket Club, Old Edwardians Cricket Club, RSLAF Cricket Club, Kent Cricket Club, Non Descript Cricket Club, Murray Town Cricket Club, Wanderers Cricket Club, and the Regent Olympics Cricket Club.
The massive overcrowding which led to violent acts at the National Stadium over the weekend and which almost turned into full-blown chaos; leaves much more to be desired.
While it is true that the National Stadium is very old and in dire need of total overhaul (demolishing and rebuilding from scratch), we are grateful to the Chinese that built the stadium. We are also thankful to the Chinese for doing general repairs and maintenance work on this edifice from time to time and when the need arise. It should be noted that the latest repair work done on the stadium by the Chinese came with words of caution and directives from the Chinese builders that the stadium capacity should henceforth never go above thirty-five thousand people (or thereabouts).
The Sierra Leone Bar Association engages the Sierra Leone Medical and Dental Association in a professional football friendly match at the Kingtom Academy over the weekend. The purpose of the match was to create professional unity among the two Associations and to create a friendly interaction among them.

The government of Sierra Leone yesterday provided an addition of Le1.5 billion to the Sierra Leone Premier League Board (PLB).
It could be recalled that prior to the successful kick-off on Sunday of the Sierra Leone Premier League, between East End Lions FC and Mighty Blackpool at the National Stadium, the government had provided two billion (Le2B) to the PLB.

The accused person is charged with the offences of Misappropriation of Public Funds and Conspiracy to Commit Corruption offence, which negate section (128) Rule (1) of Act No.12 of 2008 of the country’s laws.
