Action Aid Sierra Leone a non-governmental organization has held a one day national stakeholders orientation meeting on Promoting Rights in School Concept in a bid to strengthen the educational system in the country.
As the first Sierra Leonean woman is being sworn in as Commissioner in the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights, the Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone (HRCSL) on Thursday 5th November 2015 presented its report to the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR) at its 57th Session in Banjul, The Gambia.
The Government Consultant pathologist in the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, Dr. Semion Owiss Koroma has on Tuesday 3rd November tendered in evidence the postmortem result of the remains of one Mushod Salieu Kamara who was allegedly murdered by a private soldier, Musa Bangura of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces. The accused, Musa Bangura is facing one count charge of murder.
As the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) intensifies its engagement with religious pundits, students of the Diakonia Theological College and Christian Religious Leaders from the East End of Freetown, have praised the ACC for explaining the Anti-Corruption Act and Strategy from the Bible. This happened in a seminar organized by the College on Saturday 31st October, 2015 at the Flaming Bible Church in Wellington.

The former Head of State, Rtd. Brig. Bio has concluded the second phase of his social mobilisation with a tour of his home district of Bonthe in the Southern Region.
Speaking in Mattru Jong on Wednesday 28th October as part of his social mobilisation to encourage citizens not to be complacent, Rtd. Brig. Bio pleaded with the people to continue to comply with all the hygiene practices related to Ebola and the protocols in place until Sierra Leone is declared free of the virus. He stated that he was impressed with the efforts being made to eradicate the virus in the district and thanked the people of Bonthe for effectively tackling the Ebola menace.
His Excellency, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma has lauded the enviable role of the European Union (EU) towards the development of Sierra Leone in various sectors including infrastructure, energy, agriculture, health and education.
Deputy Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Shollay Davies has articulated Sierra Leone's position, in support of the draft Nigerian resolution entitled; "Facilitating International Cooperation and the Return of Recovered Assets and Proceeds of crime to countries of origin" at the 6th Session of the Conference of the State Parties to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) at St. Petersburg, Russia.
Addressing staff of the Koinadugu District Health Management Team, the Chief Medical Officer and Team Lead, Dr. Brima Kargbo commended staff for the hard work in the fight to contain the Ebola virus disease in their district, observing that lots have been done and encouraged them to do more.
The visit he said, aimed at reviewing district level preparedness for establishing and sustaining minimum standards in all health facilities.
