At a ceremony held at the Ministry of Health and Sanitation conference room on Monday 31 July, 2017, Dr. Brima Kargbo, the Chief Medical Officer said that this was not the first support from the Chinese government. Many of our staffs have benefitted immensely from these training programs; with enhanced skills, he commented. He said that he was confident Sierra Leone can overcome these challenges too, and it is on this backdrop that China will continue to provide both technical and logistical support to Sierra Leone. He added that 30 nurses will soon depart the shores of Freetown for malaria prevention and control training in China.
Mr. Shen Xiaokai concluded his statement with an announcement to the cheers of all in the room.
