The Anti-Corruption Commission’s (ACC's) Scorpion Squad on Tuesday 26th November 2019 raided the Freetown International Airport Terminal in Lungi and arrested two staff attached to the Immigration Office.
Newly-appointed UNICEF Representative to Sierra Leone, Dr. Suleiman Braimoh, has resented his letter of credence to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Nabeela Tunis, at her Tower Hill Office in Freetown.
Dr. Braimoh is taking over from Dr. Hamid El-Bashir, who served as UNICEF Representative in Sierra Leone from 2017 to 2019. He will now oversee the implementation of the 2020 – 2023 Country Programme of Cooperation between UNICEF and the Government of Sierra Leone.
As the November 2019 Call-Over Session of the High Court of Sierra Leone commences, one hundred and sixty nine inmates have been lined up to stand trial for various offences they allegedly committed within specific periods in the Freetown Judicial District in the Republic of Sierra Leone.

Parliament of Sierra Leone has debated and unanimously ratified the three agreements, which include agribusiness, social safety net and finance cooperation. Prior to the ratification, the Deputy Minister of Finance, Dr. Patricia Laverley highlighted the importance of the agreements, relative of job creation, improving the livelihood of extreme poor compatriots and infrastructural developments.

Africa Young Voices (AYV) Media Empire on Tuesday 26th November, 2019 unveiled the star prize for the AYV Miss University Pageant 2019 slated for 20th December, 2019 at the Family Kingdom, Aberdeen in Freetown.
Unveiling the star prize a Toyota corolla car worth more than fifty million Leones was Oullematu Jalloh, the reigning queen. In an interview with AYV she advised the upcoming contestants to be confident and not to sleep around with the judges.
UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Ishmael Beah has concluded a visit to his native Sierra Leone on the commemoration of the 30th Anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The ambassador met with President Julius Maada Bio and discussed with him the protection and promotion of the welfare of children in Sierra Leone. President Bio emphasised the government’s commitment to protecting every child.

The Director General of NCRA, Mohamed Mubashir Massaquoi departed yesterday for a 2-day Conference and Inaugural Advisory Board meeting of Open Standard Secured Identity Alliance Initiative in Cannes, France, from the 26 to the 27 November. The Hands Off Our Girls Campaign, a campaign initiated and implemented by the First Lady of Sierra Leone, Her Excellency Madam Fatima Bio, after reaching out the message in Makeni, Kono, Moyamba and Pujehun districts, the message has past weekend advanced to the eastern district of Kailahun.
The campaign is aimed at putting a halt or mitigating the numerous sexual approaches girls faces within communities in Sierra Leone; a cause which has seen the increase of rape, sexual penetration, unwanted pregnancy, amongst many other sexual offences.

Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr. Edward Hinga Sandy has stated that, the recent shortage of fuel is not as a result of the government’s failure to pay fuel subsidy since July last year as claimed by one petroleum dealer in a letter.
