The office of Births and Deaths in years past released their annual report on the number of children born and the number of deaths at the end of each year.
However, 2018 was an exception. The statistics for 2018 were not available. Many people noticed the lapse on New Year’s Eve, when pastors and priests traditionally announce the numbers of births and deaths.
His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio has instructed and given an executive clearance for the former Head of State, Valentine E.M. Strasser to be evacuated for medical treatment due to the severity of his illness.

According to the Particulars of Offence, the accused person murdered his brother at K-Man Drive Hill Top, Hill Station in the Freetown Judicial District of the Republic of Sierra Leone on 8th October 2018.

Santigie Bangura presiding over the Freetown Magistrate Court No.1 at Siaka Stevens Street has incarcerated a member of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF), Major Musa Bangura for the offence of Sexual Penetration.
Police alleged that the accused person committed the offence of Sexual Penetration of a Child under the age of eighteen years, and that the offence contravenes Section (19) of the Sexual Offences Act of 2012.

Santigie Bangura adjudicating over the Freetown Magistrate Court No.1 at Siaka Steven Street has slammed a total of one hundred billion, four hundred thousand Leones (Le140, 000,400,000) for all fourteen accused persons docked for breaching certain sections of the Public Order Act of the laws of Sierra Leone.
The bail condition further indicated that each accused person should produce one surety who should be a residential citizen within the Freetown Judicial District of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
Sureties should also surrender their passports and national identity cards and bail must be approved by the Master and Registrar of the court.
