Health and Sanitation Minister, Dr. Alpha Tejan Wurie has handed-over air tickets and bid farewell to 16 State Registered Nurses (SRNs) to pursue short training courses on Maternal and Child Care, Infant Care and Immunization in the People’s Republic of China. The presentation took place on Friday August 24, 2018 at the ministry’s conference hall at Youyi Building in Freetown.
Dr. Wurie said there are approximately 3,000 nurses serving the country, adding that it is above 300 that are at the top end of the State Registered Nurses and above, which he said indicates that the number is extremely small.
Hon. Justice Sam Margai presiding over the High Court of Sierra Leone has granted bail to eight persons accused of murder in the form of three hundred and fifty million Leones each, and one surety in like sum.

Access to safe drinking water has still remind a challenge to many sierra Leoneans especially those living in deprive and hard to reach communities.
