The Sierra Leone Road Transport Corporation has on Monday at the Lungi International Airport, launched the Lungi Bus Shuttle service via Port Loko.
The said bus shuttle service according to many is believed would ease the long raised concerns by travelers who have in most cases missed their flights due to the delay, and unstable schedule of the ferry services.
In his welcome address, the General Manager Sierra Leone Airport Authority, Sheik Swaray expressed gratification for the laudable venture by the Road Transport Corporation, stating that the said service bring an end to lots of concerns raised by their clients.
In his brief statement at the launching ceremony, the General Manager of the Sierra Leone Road Transport Corporation, Bockarie Lewis-Kamara said his vision has always been providing adequate transport facilities for the people of this Country. He further noted that there had been a bus service at Lungi before now, but that the institution authority has not been generating revenue in that area. With the new service he said the Corporation would be able to target foreign clients.
Launching the bus shuttle service, the Minister of Transport and Aviation, Leonard Balogun Koroma cautioned the Roads Corporation Management to be ready to accommodate a new crop of clients, adding that their scheduling and timeliness of such service must be of paramount in their operation.
He however called on the Airport management to work side by side with their sister corporation to achieving their goal.
